Fuel Technician

The Fuel Technician will inspect and maintain fuel storage, distribution, and dispensing equipment. Ensure systems like gas station pumps, industrial tanks operate safely and meet environmental rules. Maintain paperwork involving work orders, compliance checklists, and service reports. Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Key responsibilities include pulling the trailer around to fuel trailers and straight truck reefers, checking dates on PM and DOTs, reporting due items to the shop, checking the display for codes on running units and reporting them to the shop, taking shop vehicles to the fuel station and fueling them, communicating any issues regarding the trailer to the manager on duty, and maintaining paperwork.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, being 18 years of age, a chauffeurs license, and passing a physical and lift test.

Required skills/abilities include the ability to work well with others, work in a safe and clean environment, work in a safe and efficient manner, fill out daily reports, be coachable and willing to learn, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, maintain a safe and clean work area in an efficient manner, follow written and verbal instructions, perform basic mathematics, write reports, read and write English, perform basic math calculations, manage time effectively, demonstrate critical thinking and decision-making skills, have strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills, and demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks and a willingness to learn.

Working conditions include being comfortable working in a refrigerated environment for extended periods, standing, bending, sitting, and moving throughout the shift, wearing appropriate PPE, being exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklifts, being exposed to wet/humid/cold conditions, experiencing loud noise levels, working flexible hours including weekends and holidays, and being willing to work overtime.
