Position Opening: Probationary Police Patrolman
The Dillon Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Probationary Police Patrolman. This position involves a variety of law enforcement duties requiring self-supervision, motivation, and integrity. Officers enforce laws, protect life and property, and maintain public safety. Applicants should be comfortable using modern law enforcement technologies, including digital communication systems, computer-based reporting, and related tools. The job requires rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and demands good physical health and stamina. Work may involve pursuing suspects, operating in adverse weather, and handling sensitive information with confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications Be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, and a high school graduate or GED equivalent Pass local, state, and national background checks and have no felony convictions Be of good moral character, verified by a background investigation Have no subversive affiliations within the past five years Pass a medical exam by a licensed, department-appointed physician Successfully complete an oral interview assessing communication, motivation, and temperament Complete the Montana Law Enforcement Basic Academy within one (1) year of hire Hold or be eligible for a valid Montana drivers license Upon appointment, take the oath of office and adhere to the Peace Officer Code of Ethics Compensation and Benefits Starting salary: $51,600 annually After one year (upon confirmation): $57,351.84 Health insurance for employee and family Clothing allowance: $1,500 on hire; $1,000 annually thereafter Position open until filled.recblid frdgax4qbf46px3xjq5qog62g2pm8j
