Outside Sales Representative – Foodservice & Industrial Consumables

Location: Ocala, FL

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to help drive the continued growth of our foodservice and industrial consumables business.

As our company continues to expand, our leadership team is heavily involved in day-to-day operations, customer support, and sales efforts. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of business development activities, pursue new opportunities, strengthen our sales and marketing efforts, and help build long-term customer relationships.

This is not an inside sales role and it is not a position focused solely on managing existing accounts. We are looking for a hands-on sales professional who enjoys prospecting, networking, visiting customers, attending industry events, and proactively pursuing new business opportunities.

While some leads will be provided to help you get started, success in this role will come from a willingness to identify opportunities, follow up consistently, and actively grow the territory.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and develop new Foodservice and Industrial customer relationships.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective customers throughout Florida and surrounding southeastern markets.
• Call on food manufacturers, processors, distributors, retailers, foodservice operators, and other businesses that utilize food and consumable products.
• Conduct outbound prospecting through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, trade shows, and in-person visits.
• Visit prospective and existing customers regularly throughout your assigned territory.
• Follow up consistently with prospects and customers to develop long-term business relationships.
• Research new market opportunities and target accounts.
• Prepare and present pricing, product information, samples, specifications, and proposals.
• Manage opportunities from initial contact through quote, negotiation, and sale.
• Attend regional and national trade shows as needed.
• Collaborate with company leadership, operations, and production teams to ensure customer needs are met.
• Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and networking functions.
• Assist in growing the company's market presence through customer outreach, relationship building, and basic sales and marketing initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer opportunities.
• Meet established sales activity and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience within the food industry is required.
• Experience selling food products, ingredients, foodservice products, food manufacturing solutions, industrial food products, packaging, or related consumables is strongly preferred.
• Strong desire to develop new business and grow market share.
• Comfortable making cold calls and pursuing new opportunities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organized.
• Excellent follow-up and relationship-building skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Google Business profiles, online reviews, social media, and other basic digital marketing tools is preferred.
• Ability to learn product and industry-specific information quickly.
• Comfortable working closely with ownership and cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Travel Requirements

• Regional travel throughout Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and surrounding markets.
• Approximately 20% travel, including customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
• Occasional air travel as needed.
• Regular in-person customer meetings are expected.
