Schedule: Monday - Wednesday and Friday, every Thursday off, variable schedule hours



Your role with us

An ostomy and wound nurse plays a critical role in delivering expert, evidence-based care for patients with complex skin, wound, and ostomy needs. Through clinical consultation, hands-on assessment, education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, they guide care planning, enhance staff competency, and ensure optimal patient outcomes across all age groups. Their leadership in quality improvement, staff development, and research drives best practices in wound and ostomy care throughout the healthcare system.


What you'll do

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and revise individualized care for patients with wounds and ostomies, serving as a subject matter expert in clinical practice.
• Provides pre- and post-operative ostomy education, stoma site marking, appliance selection, self-care instruction, and ongoing outpatient support, ensuring continuity of care.
• Designs and delivers training programs and clinical orientations to enhance nursing staff competencies in wound and ostomy care across all units.
• Leads performance improvement initiatives, evaluates new products, tracks clinical outcomes, and integrates research findings into practice to advance care standards.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to review and revise protocols, participate in hospital committees, and support system-wide initiatives for skin and wound care excellence.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Requires BSN or non- nursing bachelor's degree with Masters of Nursing (MSN). Bachelor of Arts in Nursing (BAN) also accepted.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license.
• 3 years of experience in general surgical nursing required.
