VP of Operations (Alternative Lending)

Job Description

We are partnering with a high-growth alternative finance platform in the commercial funding and merchant cash advance (MCA) space. Seeking a dynamic VP of Operations to oversee core business processes, drive operational efficiency, and build a foundation for sustainable growth alongside executive management.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and manage a multi-tiered operational staff (combining local and global resources) focused on daily execution and accountability.

• Operational Execution: Direct end-to-end operational activities, including pipeline throughput, payment processing, portfolio management, and daily reporting.
\n
• Systems & Vendor Management: Oversee operational tech infrastructure, managing software integrations, third-party vendor relationships, and system enhancements.
\n
• Process Optimization: Continuously audit current workflows to eliminate bottlenecks, automate manual tasks, and optimize execution speed while preserving credit standards.
\n
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to align operational capabilities with overall business objectives and technology implementations.
\n
• Business Continuity: Troubleshoot technical or operational issues rapidly to ensure seamless service delivery and minimal downtime.

Job Requirements

• 8+ years of operational leadership experience, with required background in merchant cash advance (MCA), alternative business financing, or specialty fintech.
\n
• Demonstrated success scaling operational functions, refining processes, and implementing software integrations in a fast-moving setting.
\n
• Broad operational technical comfort across Loan Origination Systems (LOS), CRM platforms, and data reporting tools.
\n
• Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving skills, and a balanced focus on strategy and hands-on execution.

• Prior experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment is strongly preferred.
