Job Description
The Cleanroom Operator is responsible for running automated and semi-automated machinery through various stages of the semiconductor manufacturing process . The primary focus is ensuring high product quality, maintaining a sterile environment, and meeting production throughput targets.
Key Responsibilities+
1. Equipment Operation & Processing
- Load and unload silicon wafers into manufacturing tools (benches, tracks, furnaces, and steppers).
- Monitor automated production lines and computer interfaces to ensure recipes run correctly.
- Perform basic equipment setups, calibrations, and test runs.
2. Quality Control & Inspection
- Inspect wafers using microscopes or automated metrology tools to detect defects, scratches, or contamination.
- Measure wafer layers and dimensions against strict technical specifications.
- Document production metrics, test results, and deviations in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
3. Cleanroom Protocol & Safety
- Don full cleanroom attire daily—including "bunny suits," hoods, masks, gloves, and boots—following a strict gowning procedure.
- Maintain absolute cleanliness of the workstation, wiping down equipment with specialized solvents like Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA).
- Follow rigid safety protocols regarding chemical handling, lasers, and high-vacuum equipment.
