Assistant Behavior Intervention Specialist

Qualifications:
- Ability to form positive professional relationships with academic, vocational and co-curricular teachers.
- Ability to work with individual student needs with behavior needs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- College degree required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office Suite Software, Working in Windows and a fairly high level of computer skills.
Reports to: Building Principal Supervises: Students
Basic Function/Purpose: To provide student supervision, student mentoring and progress monitoring for students with behavior concerns and on intervention plans
Critical Skills:
- Ability to be a productive working member to the educational support team at HD Karns.
- Ability to maintain regular and good work attendance and come to work on time.
- Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with the staff at HD Karns.
- Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely and helpful manner.
- Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Performance/Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document daily student progress and performance.
- Monitor and report daily attendance through student management system.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive classroom and learning environment in accordance with PBIS Programs.
- Provide students with appropriate MTSS tiered support for student's struggling with behavior.
- Collaborate with staff and counselors concerning student progress and needed supports.
- Contact parents regarding student.
- Conduct hall supervision in passing periods and at beginning and end of school day.
- Assist administrators and teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Other duties as assigned by an Administrator or Building Secretary.
Term of Employment: 9 months/ 40 hour week Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience ($32,000-$36,000) Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of one time per year.
