Details Acute care hospital setting with a Level 3 Trauma designation Speech Therapy department covering ICU, acute tower, and rehab unit Caseload of 8-10 patients per day with 3 SLPs on staff daily Common diagnoses include stroke, pneumonia, and sepsis Time is shared equally between acute inpatient and acute rehab units May float to a facility approximately 30 minutes away EPIC EMR system used for charting Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts, 0730-1800 Traveler covers weekend shifts Holiday coverage required as needed SLP Manager/Supervisor present on each shift Rehab aides are staffed to support the department Requirements Current CCC-SLP certification required Current BLS certification required Active state license required at time of submission (if applicable) Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required Must be competent in Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS) Rehab unit experience preferred EPIC EMR experience Valid driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years Additional Information First-time travelers will be considered for this position Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color designated for other departments Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position Permanent employees of the facility must wait one year before applying for a travel assignment Unit-specific orientation typically spans 2-3 days, with travelers working Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts during onboarding to accommodate the schedule No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated American Traveler Job ID P-745139.
