Pre-Suit Paralegal

Sessions, Israel & Shartle, LLC is seeking three experienced Pre‑Suit Paralegals to support our nationally recognized consumer defense litigation practice. We are the nation’s largest practice group dedicated to defending consumer claims on behalf of debt collection agencies, creditors, banks, debt buyers, student loan servicers, telemarketers, and financial institutions. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented paralegal with 3–5 years of defense law firm experience and strong knowledge of consumer protection litigation processes. Position Overview The Pre‑Suit Paralegal plays a critical role in managing and responding to debt collection and credit reporting consumer complaints. This position requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage deadlines in a high‑volume litigation environment. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze consumer complaints related to debt collection and credit reporting Assess allegations, identify relevant facts, and determine appropriate responses Draft clear, accurate written response letters to claimants Verify client data and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance Identify risk exposure and compliance concerns regarding consumer collection Maintain deadlines and workflow using a computerized docket management system Prepare document drafts, supplemental filings, and exhibits Track time in the firm’s billing system Maintain organized electronic records in a paperless environment Escalate significant legal or compliance concerns to supervising attorneys Assist in identifying complaint trends and process improvement opportunities Required Qualifications Paralegal certificate and Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree 3–5 years of experience in a defense law firm environment Demonstrated knowledge of litigation processes Experience working in a paperless, deadline-driven environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Teams, and PDF software Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines Professional discretion when handling sensitive consumer information Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with consumer protection laws E‑filing experience $55,000 - $75,000 HSA‑qualified medical plans with Firm contribution 401(k) with automatic Firm contribution Paid parking Paid vacation & holiday time Why Join Sessions, Israel & Shartle?
