Student Success Peer Mentor

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes Meet one‑on‑one with assigned students (virtually or in person, as applicable). Provide individualized guidance and encouragement while helping students navigate scholarships, college applications, internships, and career readiness. Assist students with locating scholarship opportunities, reviewing scholarship applications and essays, editing college personal statements, preparing resumes and cover letters, searching for internships and employment opportunities, practicing interview skills, and staying organized throughout the application process. Maintain communication with Triple V staff regarding student progress, document meeting notes after each session, identify additional resources that may benefit students, and provide encouragement and accountability as students work toward their goals. Help students develop action plans, set achievable milestones, practice professional communication, improve time‑management skills, and build confidence throughout the educational and career planning process. Required Skills/Experience Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to provide constructive feedback on written materials. Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively. Comfortable working independently while communicating with staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Experience mentoring, tutoring, teaching, coaching, or advising students. Desired Skills/Experience Resume writing or interview preparation experience. Knowledge of college admissions or financial aid processes. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus but not required. Time Commitment Preferably 3 hours per week. Days of the week and length of volunteering will be discussed based on student availability.
