About the Position

Job Title: RN - ICU/PCU Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU/PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable working all ICU and PCU units. EPIC charting experience is required. Experience at a large Level 1 or 2 facility is required. Description: Position requires floating across various units as staffing needs are reassessed every 4 hours. May float 2-3 times per shift. Weekend requirements include either every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block. Holiday requirement includes working one holiday per 13-week contract. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates are subject to a radius rule. Pending licenses are accepted if they are from a non-compact state. All requests for time off must be included with the submission. The facility may call off one shift every two weeks. IV therapy experience includes arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV maintenance. Experience with respiratory support encompasses BiPAP and CPAP management, as well as care for ventilated patients. Must have skills in medication administration, including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Wound care experience including surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs is required. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation. Knowledge of IV insulin protocols is necessary. The average patient ratio in the ICU is 2:1, and in the PCU, the average ratio is 5:1.
