Shift Lead

Responsibilities Opens and closes the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, cash handling, ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for business day, and opening the back door for deliveries. Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change to cash registers. Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Provides training, coaching and best practices to team members. Holds store keys to open/close without management and performs related responsibilities such as maintaining inventory counts and registering all sales, including errors, price modifications and voids. Assists manager or assistant manager with review of order exceptions, reverse logistics, display evaluation and development. Makes accurate inventory counts, on‑hand quantities and keeps the outdate program compliant. Performs basic department pricing, daily price changes, signage and compliance with local regulations. Assists with bookkeeping activities such as cash report, cash counts, ledgers and bill payments. Assists with interior and exterior maintenance, cleanliness and repairs. Separates food items, manages stock rotation using the first‑in‑first‑out method and restocks accordingly. Possesses working knowledge of store systems and equipment. Assists at Pharmacy window when requested. Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Conducts bag checks of team members before leaving the store. Complies with all company policies and procedures and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers. Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Training & Personal Development Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager. Communications Serves as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assigned tasks when store management is absent. Reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management. Basic Qualifications One year of prior retail work experience as a retail key carrier or shift leader. Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of store inventory control.
