About the role

We are seeking accomplished physicians, healthcare executives, founders, investors, operators and industry leaders to advise Graphora and support emerging healthcare businesses. Your contribution can include strategic guidance, company and market evaluation, founder support, and relationships that help businesses reach clinical, commercial, distribution and strategic-capital partners. The focus spans digital health, clinical AI, biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, insurance, benefits and healthcare services.

You do not need to cover every healthcare discipline. A strong network in one area—such as hospital procurement, dental services, employer benefits, pharmaceutical development or contractor-focused distribution—can be valuable. The team will use your professional background to identify where your advice and introductions could be most useful.

Responsibilities

Strategy, company evaluation & founder support

• Provide strategic guidance on Graphora’s growth, market development and the opportunities within your specialty.
• Share industry insight and help evaluate companies, markets, emerging technologies and commercial opportunities.
• Support founders and company leaders with practical advice on market entry, product positioning, customer needs and execution.
• Identify and introduce relevant customer decision-makers, commercial partners, industry experts and sector-aligned capital relationships through Graphora’s agreed process.
• Participate in selected advisory discussions, founder conversations, events and regional initiatives appropriate to your expertise and agreed commitment.

Your specialty

• Advise on healthcare-market needs, clinical adoption, procurement, market access and commercialization, drawing on your own area of expertise.
• Help founders understand the needs of health systems, physician and dental groups, payers, employers, benefits teams and other healthcare buyers.
• Identify suitable clinical, research, product-development and distribution partners; help prepare founders for substantive partner conversations.
• Support introductions for appropriate pilots and commercial partnerships in areas such as care delivery, virtual care, clinical workflow, revenue cycle and medical technology.
• Help identify pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostic and medical-device partnerships where your background is relevant.
• Connect health-plan and benefits businesses with staffing firms, gig platforms, contractor networks and other organizations serving independent contractors and 1099 workers.
• Introduce relevant healthcare investors, provider-backed venture teams and corporate partners through Graphora’s agreed process; an advisor is not required to invest personally.

Clinical and customer relationships

Health-system executives, physician and dental groups, clinical operations leaders, employers, benefits decision-makers, insurers and healthcare purchasing teams.

Development and distribution

Research institutions, pharmaceutical and medical-device partners, laboratories, diagnostic distributors, virtual-care partners and professional networks.

Strategic capital

Healthcare-focused investors, family offices, provider-backed venture teams and corporate partners with relevant sector expertise.

Preferred experience

• Significant professional experience in one or more of healthcare delivery, medicine, health-system operations, insurance, benefits, digital health, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices or life sciences.
• A record of contribution as an executive, founder, operator, advisor, investor or other senior industry leader.
• Practical knowledge of how healthcare organizations assess, buy, adopt, develop or distribute new products and services.
• Relevant decision-maker relationships and examples of partnerships, commercialization or organizational outcomes you helped achieve.
• Experience in healthcare entrepreneurship, venture capital, private equity or angel investing can be relevant, but is not required of every applicant.

Your regional contribution

This application focuses on the Houston, TX professional ecosystem. Contribute local market knowledge, help identify relevant founders, customers, operating leaders and partners, and support relationships that can benefit companies nationally.

Meaningful professional experience or relationships in this market are valuable. You can indicate openness to other cities without submitting a separate application to every market.

Commitment & compensation

Advisory engagements start at 2–4 hours per month and may increase to 40 hours per month for advisory and board engagements, depending on the agreed scope. Work is primarily remote, with any local meetings or hybrid participation agreed separately. The city identifies the professional market you can support; it does not imply a Graphora office or a fixed in-person schedule.

Role-specific compensation

Compensation varies by role and engagement. Venture scouting, capital formation support, portfolio-company advisory, board and operational engagements have different arrangements. Depending on the separately agreed engagement, compensation may include cash, carried-interest or equity participation; no universal hourly rate, award or participation amount is promised by this listing. Scope, compensation, any vesting and other terms are agreed in writing before the engagement begins.

Other engagement types

Separate Operating Partner engagements with certain portfolio companies may require 10–40 hours per week. Venture scouting, capital formation support, company advisory, board and operating opportunities are separately scoped.
