Safety Attendant

What We Offer

The Safety Attendant in Emergency Behavioral Health provides one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.

  • Licensure/Certification:

  • De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.

  • Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required.

  • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.

  • Additional Skills (required):

  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines.

  • Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion.

  • Basic computer skills for documentation.
