Network Engineer

Overview Base pay range: $60.00/hr - $70.00/hr. Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States (On-Site). Term: 2-year contract. Brooksource: Description: Works with VSP IT team to implement and provide support to the agency’s IT Network infrastructure. Performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of VSP’s Network related infrastructure. Candidate must have in-depth and considerable knowledge and experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure and cabling. Responsibilities Considerable knowledge and working experience with Cisco routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure. Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment. Works closely with agency’s IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date. Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime. Oversee the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency building data network cabling infrastructure. Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations. Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required. Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects. Must have obtained Cisco CCNP/CCDP or CCIE certification(s).
