Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized cardiovascular operating room nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective perioperative management in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room and equipment for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures.
Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes promptly.
Assist surgeons with instrumentation, surgical procedures, and device placements such as Impella and ECMO.
Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
Document all perioperative activities accurately and thoroughly.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Possess an active RN license in the state of practice.
Have at least 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience.
Demonstrate proficiency in all surgical procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, ECMO, TAVR, TCAR, device insertions, and thoracic/lung surgeries.
Be CPR and ACLS certified; current certifications must be maintained.
Exhibit strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Experience with Epic electronic health record system within the past 12 months required.
