Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.

Must-Have: Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including eye care, thigh assessments, and vitamin K injections. Candidates must have experience functioning in high acuity and high-volume labor and delivery settings.

Description: Local candidates will be considered at the same rate. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in high-risk Labor and Delivery. Candidates must provide current supervisory references. Proof of required certifications must be included with submission. Candidates must pass a clinical review with no exceptions. Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment is highly preferred. New graduates are not accepted for this position. Candidates must float to postpartum and antepartum as needed. Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private obstetricians, and community care clinics. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. Staffing will follow established nursing guidelines. The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit contains 31 rooms and 31 beds. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must have charge experience with a patient ratio of 1-2. Candidates will work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Functioning in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries is required, and care for the newborn will continue until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must demonstrate skills in managing various medical interventions and newborn assessments. Availability to provide weekend coverage is required. Candidates must manage and support breastfeeding and lactation as needed. Completion of required training modules prior to start will be necessary.
