Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit - Full-Time

SUMMARY As a Registered Nurse - IV, your nursing experience and leadership abilities allow you to develop and implement quality care plans for patients, while acting as a mentor to others on the unit. Job Information Job Title: Registered Nurse Department: Intensive Care Unit Location: Newark Wayne Hospital Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule: 6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am + every other weekend and holiday Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 RESPONSIBILITIES Assessment – Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources to meet the needs of the patient and family. Planning & Implementation – Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate with interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintain an appropriate nurse‑patient relationship and provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family. Evaluation & Education – Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities. Training – Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non‑clinical matters. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse License in the State of New York. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s Degree in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services. 1‑3 years of healthcare experience in a related field. Strong communication skills. EDUCATION AS: Nursing (Required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
