Position Overview Red Oak Greenhouse has an immediate opening for a full‑time Production Greenhouse Grower located in southwest Iowa. Established in 1879, Red Oak Greenhouse is a wholesale grower of beautiful plants year‑round with a family tradition of growing lifelong partnerships one employee at a time. We are located 45 minutes southeast of Omaha; our state‑of‑the‑art 26 acre indoor production facility is equipped with the most up‑to‑date equipment offered in the greenhouse industry today. Responsibilities & Qualifications Strong problem‑solving skills. Obtain an Iowa Pesticide Applicators License within 90 days of employment. Understand plant requirements such as watering, fertilization, EC and pH management, pest and disease identification/management. Basic understanding of IPM principles including scouting and application of chemicals. Self‑motivated in learning growing techniques. Takes a detailed work approach to growing many different crops with excellent quality. Ability to multi‑task and complete tasks as scheduled. Strong communication skills. Ability to work in a team‑oriented atmosphere to achieve common goals. Respond to and resolve alarms. Physical requirements: climb, bend, sit, stand, kneel, walk for prolonged periods; work in hot conditions during summer months; lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to use required PPE such as a respirator. Willing to work weekends and holidays as part of a rotation; overtime required during busier seasons. Benefits Wages based on experience.
