Position Overview

The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at our organization is on the lookout for a full-time or part-time Pediatric Radiologist who is CAQ eligible or certified. This role is aimed at enhancing our pediatric radiology division, which is known for its busy diagnostic and procedural services.

Our Pediatric Radiology Division is responsible for providing training for the ACGME-accredited pediatric radiology fellowship, as well as for diagnostic and interventional radiology residents, medical students, and pediatric residents. The Battle Building, a dedicated outpatient facility for children, is conveniently located just a short walk from the main hospital. Our team of specialized pediatric technologists supports X-ray, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound services, which are available in both the Battle Building and the main hospital. There is a strong collaborative relationship between our pediatric radiologists and pediatric subspecialty colleagues.

Our Children's Hospital is designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center, featuring 64 NICU beds, 25 PICU beds, and 38 acute care beds. The inpatient service and newborn nursery are managed by pediatric hospitalists. We offer a comprehensive range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties, catering to a diverse array of patients, from common cases to those with complex medical needs. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art clinical and research imaging technology, supported by child life specialists, pediatric sedation, and a dedicated pediatric anesthesia team.

Applicants for this position should possess an MD or equivalent degree, hold a Subspecialty (Certificate of Added Qualification) in Pediatric Radiology, or be eligible for such certification. Candidates must also qualify for Virginia State Medical Licensure. Clinical expertise, particularly in fluoroscopy (excluding interventional procedures), along with a dedication to academic pursuits, is essential. We are considering candidates for the ranks of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with the rank determined by qualifications and experience.
