Job Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Admitting Representative to join their team. The primary responsibility of the role involves conducting detailed patient interviews for accurate data collection, verifying insurance coverage, and obtaining necessary medical authorizations within a 24-hour timeframe. The role includes managing essential paperwork, obtaining legal consents, coordinating patient material delivery to clinical units, and securely storing patient valuables. The Admitting Representative will maintain real-time updates to patient records and apply age-appropriate communication techniques for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Conducting detailed interviews with incoming patients or their families to collect accurate personal and financial data.
  • Verifying insurance coverage, obtaining necessary medical authorizations, and documenting status within strict 24-hour windows.
  • Providing and explaining essential paperwork to ensure all required signatures and legal consents are obtained.
  • Coordinating the delivery of patient identification materials, charts, and addressographs to the appropriate clinical units.
  • Managing the intake and secure storage of patient valuables according to facility safety protocols.
  • Maintaining real-time updates to patient records and notifying medical staff or utilization review departments of changes.
  • Applying age-appropriate communication techniques for a diverse patient population, ranging from infants to geriatric care.
  • Upholding strict privacy and confidentiality standards in accordance with organizational ethics and legal regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of professional experience in a customer service-oriented role.
  • Proficiency in typing at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a local Fire Safety Card and Assault Response Competency (ARC) certification within 30 days of employment.
Experience
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service-oriented role.

  • Proficiency in typing at a minimum of 30 wpm.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate degree.
  • Prior experience in a clinical, hospital, or healthcare registration environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable.
Schedule / Shift

Primary shift needing coverage is 3:00pm - 11:30pm, with rotating weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday) as part of this role. Days worked can vary, but schedules will go live 14 days prior and will be set for a full month (2 pay periods). The position guarantees a minimum of 3 shifts (24 hours) per week, with potential for additional hours as they become available.

Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)).
  • 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
  • Short Term Disability Insurance.
  • Term Life Insurance Plan.
