Job Title: Anesthesia Tech Department : OR Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Days/Evenings/Nights SUMMARY: As an Anesthesia Tech, your excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control helps you to manage anesthesia equipment and supplies, while assisting with daily functions of the Anesthesia Department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Equipment Management. Maintain all anesthesia equipment; manage quality control by recognizing malfunctioning equipment and taking necessary action; perform minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance Procedure Assistance. Prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies for use; calibrate and check equipment accurately before each use; assist with procedures as assigned; stock anesthesia carts with extremely high-risk medications (may handle meds, sharps and syringes); maintain a clean, safe and adequately supplied workroom Maintains Ideal Working Operations. Contribute to maintenance of supply inventory, ensure there are adequate levels of available supplies and complete monthly pharmacy inspections. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: None. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: H.S. diploma preferred Previous anesthesia experience preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
