Role Description This full-time, on-site Medical Assistant role is based at Capital Surgeons Group clinics in Austin, TX. The Medical Assistant will support surgeons and clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting with minor procedures. Daily responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, updating electronic medical records, handling referrals, and managing basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection and post-visit instructions. The role also involves administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and responding to patient inquiries to ensure efficient, respectful, and timely care. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the healthcare team to maintain a safe, organized environment and provide a positive experience for patients and their families. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including clinical support, vital signs, and assisting with in-office procedures. Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document, communicate, and understand surgical and clinical information. Experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, phone triage, and coordination of referrals and authorizations. Proven ability to deliver compassionate, professional Patient Care, maintaining privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. Competence in managing Medical Records, preferably within electronic health record (EHR) systems, with attention to accuracy and compliance. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; current MA certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred. Basic life support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
