This includes creating leases, extensions, assignments, amendments, and correspondence, for prospective and existing regional and local tenants. Abstract leases, amendments, assignments, and other legal documents. Updating and entering relevant information in various internal logs, reports, and software programs. Assist property managers and leasing agents with lease interpretation and correspondence with tenants and vendors. Assist with workflow management and aid in creating and maintaining internal systems to efficiently and effectively manage a large volume of active lease files (both physical and electronic). Assist in due diligence effort when purchasing new assets. REQUIREMENTS: Superb writing and drafting skills. Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail. Ability to think creatively, anticipate issues, and assess risks. Well-versed in commercial real estate verbiage and legal terminology. Proven experience drafting leases, reviewing and responding to tenant comments, and revising lease language. Proven ability to review, analyze, and abstract commercial leases and other legal contracts. Strong understanding of shopping center operations and lease terms, including, but not limited to, CAM terms, billing and reconciliations, tenant exclusives and restrictions. A minimum of 5 years of paralegal and lease administration experience in the commercial real estate industry, preferably with an emphasis on retail leasing. High proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in MRI and Yardi a plus.
