Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Details:

• Complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of new bridges and other structures
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
• Prepare and review engineering design calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
• Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements, budget, and schedule
• Interpret and apply federal and state design standards and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study with no experience.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:

1. MS Office Suite
2. Preparation of construction cost estimates
3. CADD software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge
4. Design software including RCPIER, STAAD, and CsiBridge
5. Industry-standard Design Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
6. Department of Transportation Design Requirements, including BD’s, BC’s, and DM-4
7. Department of Transportation Design Software, including PSLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD, and BPLRFD
8. Steel Girder Design and the AISC Steel Manual
9. Concrete Design and the ACI Manual
