Quality Assurance TechnicianOur ideal candidate will be able to efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to focus for long periods of time. You will be required to perform daily line audits to proactively help correct defects and look for root cause corrective actions, inspect and test manufactured goods and determine if they are safe to use and meet or exceed acceptable tolerances. You will need to feel comfortable communicating with team members and support the team to ensure continuous production at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. Be part of our shared mission with Orbia to Advance Life Around the World.Involved as a final check before a product goes out the door; they are also responsible for verifying the quality of the basic materials received (as using a flawed material in the production process will inevitably result in a flawed end product) as well as every step in the manufacturing process.Responsibilities:Inspect product during the extrusion processCompare product with customer specificationsInspect and tag finished productIssue SAP Quality Notifications as requiredTest incoming raw material and maintain recordsOperate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job (micrometers, pi tapes, calipers)Maintains a neat and orderly work areaDisplays attention to detail necessary to ensure quality products are being producedFollows all safety requirements for the position and all company safety guidelinesCompletes appropriate paperwork to ensure accurate quality transactionsAdditional duties as required by ManagementEducation and Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to speak, read and write English fluently (Bilingual is a Plus!)At least 1 year of experience in quality/inspection procedures, REQUIREDAt least 1 year in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentSAP or ERP experience a PlusWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Data Entry Skills for reportingAbility to adhere to all Safety Measures and Procedures (SOP's, GMP's)Occupational and Physical Requirements:Ability to learn and use laboratory and inspection equipmentGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to recognize color spectrumFully mobile from one manufacturing area to anotherAble to step over and/or bend under objectsAble to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance throughout the shiftMust be able to work flexible shifts as neededWear required PPE at all times (safety shoes, glasses, etc)Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in product and sense temperature changes in the finished productStand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift and work around hot machineryWork in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noisesPerks of Joining Our TeamMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Benefits Starting Day One!! The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
