Registered Pharmacist

Job Title Registered Pharmacist Department Pharmacy – FSLA: Non-Exempt Responsibilities Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, greeting customers and addressing them by name. Assist customers with locating products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions. Answer telephone calls promptly and deliver friendly service to callers. Fill and/or verify prescriptions and counsel patients according to OBRA ’90 regulations. Assist with controlled‑substance inventory, monthly inventory, and reconciliation of third‑party accounts. Maintain inventory levels by ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering data into the computer system. Assist with coaching, counseling, and training employees and participate in additional education and training. Order and merchandise over‑the‑counter products in cooperation with the HBC manager. Build growth and sales through counseling and wellness programs and visit schools, doctors’ offices, senior centers, etc. to market services. Follow security and regulatory procedures, including quality assurance programs. Assume responsibility for the pharmacy department in the absence of the pharmacy manager. Maintain a professional appearance, including clean lab coat and name tag. Communicate with the pharmacy manager about procedural changes, issues, or corporate communications. Adhere to company policies, store guidelines, and be punctual for scheduled work. Partner with other departments to promote wellness and the pharmacy. Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required. Qualifications College degree and licensure in pharmacy, with continuing education to maintain license. Six months to one year of similar or related work experience. Medication Therapy Management (MTM) experience preferred. Ability to administer immunizations. Strong logical, scientific, and arithmetic reasoning skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including composing correspondence and technical manuals. Ability to evaluate technical data and advise people. Physical Requirements Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Vision: ≤20 inches to >20 feet, with or without correction; depth perception and color vision required. Working Conditions This position involves a fast work pace in a retail store setting, requiring simultaneous handling of prescription fills, phone calls, and customer assistance. Occasional exposure to chemicals/solvents exists when compounding products and chemotherapy drugs. Equipment Used PC with pharmacy software, printer, cash register, pharmacy balance, scanner, calculator, telephone, fax, and copier. Compensation Hourly starting wage: $60.00 to $70.60, depending on experience.
