Director, Fixed Income Trading

Responsibilities
- Overseeing trading strategy, risk management, and revenue generation across a designated asset class
- Setting Trading Strategy for the asset class, aligning execution with market conditions, client objectives, and departmental revenue goals
- Monitoring Risk and Positions across the trading desk
- Leading and Developing Talent by mentoring junior traders
- Collaborating with Internal Partners including Compliance, Risk Management, and senior leadership
- Executing Trades in support of Institutional and Retail Sales representatives
- Generating Revenue Ideas by delivering actionable trade recommendations and market insights to Sales teams
- Maintaining Broker Relationships with national and regional dealers to enhance liquidity and market access
- Ensuring Regulatory Compliance through timely reporting and adherence to all applicable regulations
- Providing Product Expertise via formal training sessions and daily collaboration with Sales teams
- Representing Fifth Third as a thought leader in fixed income markets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 12 years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, M&A, or Capital Markets
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses (or ability to obtain within company policy)
- Series 24 preferred
- Professional proficiency from 10 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Deep expertise in fixed income instruments, market dynamics, and trading strategies
- Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg and trade processing systems
- Strong risk management and regulatory compliance knowledge
