Intern, Accounting/Finance, Part-Time (Summer 2026)

The Opportunity The Accounting/Finance Intern is a student enrolled in a four-year degree program at a college or University who assists in the day-to-day accounting processes and responsibilities within the Finance Department. Under the supervision of the Sr Accounts Payable Specialist, the Intern is responsible for a variety of functions pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial support functions. While some of the essential functions of the Finance/Accounting Intern role are completely independent, the incumbent will be expected to work in a team environment. The ability to take direction, as needed, from supervisors is required. In This Role You Will Upload and distribute invoices in digital accounts payable system in a timely and accurate manner Prepare basic Balance Sheet reconciliations Assist in ensuring the control environment is operating effectively Document and maintain thorough and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions completed using ERP system and/or Microsoft Excel Gather data and complete various financial analyses Perform general clerical duties to assist accounting teams Other duties as assigned. The Experience You Will Bring Enrolled Sophomore or Junior Accounting major from a four-year college or university Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient using MS Excel, Word and Outlook Ability to create Excel spreadsheets and analysis Ability to work mornings or afternoons for 15-25 hours per week in 4-hour blocks of time; Must be available to commit to at least 15-25 hours per week from May through August 2026 internship period in Memphis, TN. Nice to Have: Previous work experience in an office environment. Knowledge of accounting systems.
