2nd Shift_ Mechanical Manufacturing Technician_ Onsite

Position Overview Mechanical Manufacturing Technician – entry level position at Collins Aerospace, located in Des Moines, IA. The role is primarily onsite and requires a U.S. Person. No security clearance required. Responsibilities Learn to set up and operate test stands to check nozzles, spray bars, and valves for spray quality, angle, and flow according to specifications. Operate laser marker and printer according to procedures and specifications. Record spray parameters and certify product conformance through tests, documenting performance results by serial number. Disassemble, repair, and assemble product according to specifications as needed. Accurately complete production documentation and perform labor transitions. Support and follow all EHS, Quality, and CI guidelines set by leadership and the position. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and safety activities. Work the 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–12:00am); may be required to work overtime and nonstandard hours. Qualifications High School diploma or GED; if lacking, 2 years of relevant experience. Manufacturing experience preferred. Manual dexterity for assembly and calibration tasks. Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints. Strong communication skills at all employee levels. Additional Requirements Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA Regulation 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40. External applicants may be eligible for a $1,000 sign‑on bonus.
