Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a highly qualified Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) for a facility located in Hilo, Hawaii. This position involves floating between various medical and surgical units, including the Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and on rare occasions, the Cardiovascular Unit. Candidates are required to bring their Hawaii license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts Days (06:45 to 19:15) Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii Nursing License; 2-10 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing; Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Procedural Sedation, Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
• Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend the employee health appointment on Friday. Candidates should not accept the start date if unable to be present on time.
• Department/Unit Specifics:
  • Medical - 77 beds
  • Laulima (surgical Acute) - 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular - 15 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratio:
  • Medical: 1:6 for days and evenings, 1:8 for nights
  • Laulima: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular: 1:4
  • Ratio may vary due to unexpected leaves.
