Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures in a busy operating room setting. Ensure patient safety, support surgical teams, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR staff to prepare and position patients for surgery.
• Circulate and scrub in multiple surgical specialties, including general, neuro, spine, ortho, robotics, urology, vascular, and colorectal procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and manage surgical equipment, including two Da Vinci XI Robots.
• Monitor patient status throughout procedures, respond to emergencies, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Document procedures, patient information, and intraoperative activities in Epic and other relevant systems.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care instructions while ensuring calibration of unit systems such as Pyxis.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active RN licensure for GA or a valid Compact license.
• Minimum of 1 year of circulating and scrubbing experience in an Operating Room.
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with OR equipment, sterile techniques, and unit systems like Epic and Pyxis.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced surgical team and adapt to floating as needed.
