Monitor Technician- Telemetry - FT Nights

Job Summary The Telemetry Monitor Technician observes, evaluates, reports, interprets, and records electrocardiogram (EKG) recordings for monitored patients. Provides indirect patient care to adolescents through the adult patient population. Under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or the Physician, provides age‑appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. The role includes patient advocacy. Responsibilities The Telemetry Monitor Technician: Observes, evaluates, reports, interprets, and records EKG recordings for monitored patients. Provides indirect patient care to adolescents within the adult patient population. Under supervision of the RPN or Physician, delivers age‑appropriate, culturally sensitive care, maintains a safe environment, collects information, communicates effectively, and uses technology. Advocates for patient needs and ensures communication with families and the healthcare team. Qualifications Obtain an EKG Certification Exam with a passing score within 30 days of hire. Hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or complete it within 30 days of employment. Be willing to complete additional training as required by department policies.
