Senior Project Geologist

Reporting to the Senior Director, Site Evaluations and Project Advancement, the Senior Project Geologist will play a key role in supporting Regeneration's technical site evaluations and field programs throughout Canada and the United States. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary field programs, oversee contractors and technical consultants, interpret geological data, support project evaluations, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance restoration and remining opportunities.

This position will have an equally strong focus on the design, management, and execution of mine waste characterization programs, with a significant emphasis on sonic drilling investigations. Sonic drilling is a core component of Regeneration's approach to evaluating tailings, waste rock deposits, and legacy mine waste resources, making this expertise critical to success in the role.

This role is fully remote, with travel requirements of approximately 20% based on project needs across North America.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct desktop evaluations of mining waste assets using public and proprietary datasets.
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of waste characterization field programs, including drilling and sampling activities for tailings, waste rock, and other mine waste streams.
• Manage field contractors, laboratories, and technical consultants, including scope development, vendor selection, and performance oversight.
• Ensure field activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee sample collection, QA/QC procedures, chain-of-custody protocols, and laboratory coordination.
• Analyze and interpret geological data to support waste stream assessments, resource recovery opportunities, and restoration initiatives.
• Maintain and utilize GIS and geological databases to support project evaluations and decision-making.
• Participate in site visits and technical assessments across North America.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and internal stakeholders to support project advancement and responsible resource recovery initiatives.
• Contribute to project ranking, investment evaluations, and strategic development opportunities.

What You'll Bring

• Professional Geologist (P.Geo. or equivalent) designation.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience planning and executing drilling and sampling programs.
• Hands-on experience designing, managing, and overseeing sonic drilling programs for geological, environmental, tailings, waste rock, or mine waste characterization projects.
• Experience with additional drilling methods such as sonic, diamond, RC, air-core, or auger.
• Strong geological logging, sampling, QA/QC, and data interpretation experience.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, QGIS, Leapfrog, or similar geospatial software.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants, and technical service providers.
• Ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States as required.
