Job Summary

An RN Supervisor is a leadership-level Registered Nurse responsible for overseeing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves coordinating daily operations, supporting clinical staff, and acting as a liaison between management and the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care
• Monitor patient conditions and review nursing care plans
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to nursing staff
• Assist in staffing, scheduling, and shift assignments
• Respond to patient or staff concerns and resolve issues promptly
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and safety standards
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
• Handle emergency situations and provide clinical support when needed

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid RN license (state-approved)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Minimum 2–5 years of clinical nursing experience
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Current BLS certification from organizations like the American Heart Association
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
