The Account Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts while supporting product development, order management, production tracking, and administrative functions. This role requires a highly organized professional who can balance customer communication, detailed documentation review, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and customer contacts.
- Communicate customer needs, forecasts, and project requirements to internal teams.
- Provide timely updates regarding production status, shipments, and project milestones.
- Follow up on customer requests, approvals, revisions, and ongoing projects.
- Generate reports, spreadsheets, and summaries as needed.
Project Coordination & Production Follow-Up
- Track development and production timelines from order placement through shipment.
- Monitor project status and proactively identify potential delays or risks.
- Coordinate communication regarding production changes, scheduling adjustments, and order modifications.
- Work with manufacturing partners to gather updates and communicate solutions when issues arise.
Document Review & Analysis
- Review customer specifications, product requirements, packaging details, and order documentation for accuracy.
- Analyze project information to identify discrepancies, missing details, or potential concerns.
- Verify product, pricing, quantity, and shipment information.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, account support, project coordination, administrative support, or related role.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to analyze and review detailed documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams.
Preferred
- Experience working with overseas suppliers or manufacturing partners
- Experience managing customer accounts or serving as a primary customer contact.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for trade shows and customer meetings.
