Job Overview
The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating and managing the referral process, ensuring patients receive appropriate care and services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a range of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full patient referral process, ensuring accurate and timely coordination across providers, patients, and payers.
• Review referral requests and medical records to determine appropriate next steps.
• Communicate with providers and specialists to support seamless care transitions.
• Verify insurance coverage and secure required authorizations/pre-certifications.
• Schedule patient appointments based on urgency, availability, and patient needs.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation and track progress through completion.
• Analyze referral data to identify trends and support process improvements.
• Support patients by addressing questions related to referrals, insurance, and care coordination.

Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience and understanding of using MS Office, including strong Word and Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with insurance verification processes preferred.
• Previous experience in medical referrals preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
• Strong clerical skills, including filing, data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems, are necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently.
