Shipping And Receiving Clerk

The Shipping And Receiving Clerk works in a warehouse environment to support daily logistics operations, including order picking, shipping, receiving, and general material handling. This role requires comfort working in narrow aisles and at heights, frequent use of RF scanners and warehouse equipment, and consistent physical activity such as lifting and moving boxes.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare orders accurately using RF scanners and follow established procedures for order fulfillment.
• Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse using reach trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Perform shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, checking documentation, and ensuring correct labeling.
• Handle boxes and materials safely, consistently lifting up to 50 pounds and organizing items in designated storage locations.
• Work efficiently in narrow aisles and at heights while adhering to all safety standards and protocols.
• Use computer systems and databases, such as FedEx shipping platforms and SAP, to track inventory, process shipments, and update records.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, including proper storage of equipment and materials.
• Follow attendance and punctuality expectations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Present a professional and neat appearance while representing the warehouse team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting process enhancements and demonstrating a desire to grow with the company.

Essential Skills

• Experience with shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse environment.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking.
• Ability to operate reach trucks and forklifts safely and effectively.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
• Comfort working in narrow aisles and at heights while following safety guidelines.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with FedEx shipping databases.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar warehouse management or ERP systems.
• Strong punctuality and reliability, with adherence to strict attendance expectations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $23.50/hr.
