Description

Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven, and highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide behavioral health services to children and adolescents in both school-based and clinic settings. This position is dedicated to improving access to high-quality mental health care for underserved youth through innovative and community-based service delivery.

The LCSW will provide assessment, diagnosis, therapy, crisis intervention, care coordination, and consultation services for children and their families. The position will serve students through Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center's Behavioral Health Mobile Unit, operating in partnership with charter schools across the Kansas City area three days per week, and provide outpatient behavioral health services at the health center's main campus two days per week.

The ideal candidate is passionate about integrated care, trauma-informed treatment, and reducing barriers to mental health services for children and their families.

Work Schedule

• Three (3) days per week: Behavioral Health Mobile Unit serving charter schools throughout the Kansas City area.
• Two (2) days per week: Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center Main Campus, 825 Euclid Avenue, Kansas City.
• Occasional evening or community outreach events may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Services

• Provide comprehensive behavioral health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents.
• Deliver evidence-based individual, group psychotherapy services as well as caregiver consultation.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational, state, federal, and payer requirements.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, school personnel, and community partners to support treatment goals.

School-Based Behavioral Health Services

• Provide behavioral health services aboard the Behavioral Health Mobile Unit at charter school locations throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area three days per week.
• Partner with school staff to identify and address behavioral health concerns impacting academic performance and social-emotional functioning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and consultation with educators and school support teams.
• Support prevention, early intervention, and behavioral health education initiatives within schools.

Integrated Care and Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with primary care providers, psychiatrists, psychologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate referrals and linkage to community resources and specialty services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and team meetings.
• Promote whole-person care through integration of behavioral health and primary care services.

Community Engagement

• Promote awareness of available behavioral health services among community partners and school stakeholders.
• Participate in outreach activities and initiatives supporting children's mental health and wellness.
• Support the mission and values of Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center in serving diverse and underserved populations.

Qualifications

Professional

Clinician must have demonstrated success in the implementation of symptom resolution and solution-focused approaches to client's problems as well as the retention of clients.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Current and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the State of Missouri, or eligibility for Missouri licensure or in process to obtain it.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults.
• Experience conducting behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and psychotherapy.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to travel between school and clinic locations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience working in school-based behavioral health, community mental health, or integrated healthcare settings.
• Experience serving culturally diverse and underserved populations.
• Training in trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, or other evidence-based interventions for children and youth.
• Demonstrated willingness to pursue and obtain Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credentials or equivalent play therapy certification.
• Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, and evidence-based interventions.
• Experience utilizing electronic health records (EHR).

Education

Must have a Master's Degree in a licensable profession (Social Work, Professional Counselor, Psychologist).
