Senior Accountant

Client Overview: Our client, a large organization in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant for a highly visible role with strong growth potential. The ideal candidate is technically strong, comfortable owning their financials, and experienced with SOX, US GAAP, and cost accounting processes. Salary/Hourly Rate: $80k - $95k Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will support operational accounting as well as cost accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will contribute to both financial reporting and operational analysis. This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow and expand their scope. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant: Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and roll-forwards to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Prepare internal financial reporting packages, including management reports and financial statements with footnotes, while supporting ERP reporting. Assist with audit and compliance efforts, including SOX controls, internal audit testing, external audit support, and resolving audit findings. Support cost accounting activities, including inventory variance analysis and LIFO/FIFO updates within the ERP system. Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: 5+ years of accounting experience. Strong Excel skills. SAP experience is required. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: Experience with SOX compliance. Knowledge of US GAAP. Cost accounting experience. Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
