Job Description

The Inventory Control Coordinator maintains accurate inventory records, monitors stock levels, and supports efficient material flow throughout the facility. This role works closely with production, purchasing, planning, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed, properly tracked, and aligned with operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and timely system updates.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, ensuring issues are addressed quickly and effectively.

• Coordinate and execute scheduled physical inventory counts across designated areas.

• Monitor inventory transactions and promptly escalate shortages, discrepancies, or material concerns to purchasing.

• Ensure proper material handling, labeling, and storage practices are consistently followed.

• Complete same-day receiving and inventory transactions to keep records current and reliable.

• Support the receiving, stocking, and issuing of materials to production to maintain uninterrupted operations.

• Partner with purchasing and planning teams to align inventory levels with current and forecasted demand.

• Track and report key inventory metrics, including accuracy, shrinkage, and turnover.

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of inventory storage areas and related workspaces.

• Assist with ERP or inventory management system updates and transactions, ensuring data integrity.

• Follow FIFO procedures and established inventory control processes to minimize obsolescence and waste.

• Handle raw materials and finished goods in support of warehouse and light manufacturing activities.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.

• 2+ years of inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience.

• Experience with ERP or inventory management systems (such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms).

• Hands-on experience with inventory activities including cycle counts, data entry, and inventory reconciliation.

• Ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry in inventory and ERP systems.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy.

• Ability to analyze inventory data and resolve discrepancies using structured problem-solving.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills for working cross-functionally with production, purchasing, and logistics.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Moderate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as required by warehouse and material handling tasks.

• Ability to manage multiple types of inventories in various locations within the facility.

• Knowledge of proper material handling practices, including safe operation around forklifts and pallet jacks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
