Service Cashier

Sterling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram South in Maurice, LA is seeking a Cashier to join our team!

As a Cashier, you will serve as an important point of contact for customers visiting our Service and Parts Departments. You’ll process payments, assist customers with questions, and help create a professional and welcoming experience. This is a versatile position that will be cross-trained to support both Service and Parts operations and may also assist our Administrative Office with various tasks as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Process payments for Service and Parts transactions, including cash, credit card, and check payments
• Provide clear explanations of invoices and direct customer questions to the appropriate team member when needed
• Maintain and balance cash drawer, receipts, and transaction records
• Answer customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department
• Answer and direct calls appropriately using a multi-line phone system
• Serve as a backup for our main receptionist as needed
• Assist the Service and Parts Departments with various daily tasks as needed
• Provide administrative support to the office, including filing, data entry, document organization, and other general clerical duties
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts team members, technicians, and administrative staff to help ensure smooth daily operations
• Uphold dealership standards for customer service and professionalism

Qualifications & Job Requirements: 

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred, ideally in an automotive or retail environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in basic math and handling monetary transactions
• Familiarity with dealership management systems preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be at least 18 years of age

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM with some Saturdays (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM) required
