Title: Registered Nurse (RN), Cath Lab Location: Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, Laguna Hills, CA Department: Invasive Cardiology Status: Full Time Shift: Days (0700 to 1730) Pay Range: $51.99 to $81.50/hour Bonus: $10,000 siging bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements. Position Summary This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. Utilizing the nursing process and clinical nursing practice standards, the RN, Clinical II, Cath Lab is responsible for directing, delivering, and coordinating nursing care for the Cardiovascular Lab patient in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Nursing Department. Responsibilities include directing unlicensed employee activity, synthesizing patient information, assessment of patients, planning of care/interventions, teaching patients/family, implementation of treatment plan/MD orders, and evaluation of care rendered. The RN must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care of the patient. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient age, cultural diversity, and psychosocial and/or spiritual needs into the patient's plan of care. The RN contributes to the promotion of quality nursing care through performance improvement processes that demonstrates positive outcomes in patient care. In addition, the RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. Saddleback Medical Center is a STEMI, Stroke and Thrombectomy Capable Receiving Center. This RN, Clinical II, Cath Lab position includes the following specialty areas: Invasive Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Peripheral Vascular, Neurovascular Interventions and TAVR procedures. Call is required for this position . Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job 1. Ability to utilize the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care. 2. Ability to analyze the assessment data to determine a nursing diagnosis and appropriate interventions. 3. Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective critical thinking skills. 4. Demonstrates leadership in the coordination of patient care across the healthcare continuum with progress towards meeting desired patient outcome. 5. Ability to delegate to licensed and unlicensed personnel and serve as a role model and mentor to new staff members. 6. Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation. 7. Ability to formulate a teaching plan, based on identified patient learning needs, and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching plan as necessary. 8. Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of job specific competencies. 9. Ability to identify, develop and implement an action plan for self-development/professional growth that also includes peer review. 10. Identifies subtle as well as obvious patient problems and reports to an appropriate resource person considering multidisciplinary team members and/or Chain of Command. 11. Addresses the age specific needs of all populations served: adolescent, adult, and geriatric. 12. Contributes to an effective and safe working environment. 13. Qualifications Experience Two years Critical Care Nursing experience preferred One year Cath Lab, Vascular Lab and/or EP Lab experience preferred. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background. Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred. Education California RN License required BSN BLS certification required ACLS certification required CCRN and/or RCIS specialty certification preferred NIHSS certification preferred
