ASCP - Histology Technician

MLR is collaborating with a respected health system to recruit a full-time, permanent Histology Technician. In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing patient conditions by preparing and analyzing tissue samples, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy within the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tissue Processing & Slide Preparation: Perform tissue embedding, microtomy, and staining to create slides for diagnostic analysis.
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and ensure proper maintenance of lab equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Specialized Procedures: Assist with advanced techniques, such as immunohistochemistry, to support complex diagnostic needs.
• Specimen Tracking & Documentation: Accurately label, document, and track all specimens through the process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists and lab team members to ensure precise and timely reporting.
• Quality Control: Engage in quality control measures to maintain high laboratory standards and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Certification: ASCP-certified Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
• Experience: 1+ year in a histology lab is preferred.
