Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks or 26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: AK RN License Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - AK RN License in hand for Auto Offer - Ability to complete AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing Description: We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse. RN license pending is acceptable, but the candidate must have the license in hand for an automatic offer. The assignment length is either 13 weeks or 26 weeks, depending on the traveler’s choice. The shift will be a night shift consisting of three 12-hour shifts or four 12-hour shifts, as chosen by the traveler. Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend, depending on staffing needs. The unit utilizes a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model. For every patient, there is one bedside RN, one Virtual RN, and one CNA. Nurse and CNA patient ratios are 1:6. The virtual nurse assists with admissions, discharges, charting, documentation, and communication. The team cares for surgical patients, including colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, and ENT. They also manage complex medical patients with conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. Travelers may float to other similar units as necessary to meet facility needs. A commitment to working three of the five major holidays is required. All requests for time off must be included in the initial submission. Incomplete requests or non-compliance may lead to termination of the contract. References are required from the last three years of experience. Candidates may expect to float between nearby facilities. Travelers may need to submit their monthly cell phone bills directly for work-related usage reimbursement.
