If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our team as a Principal or Sr Principal Production Planner to support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA.The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").**One position will cover week days (Mon - Thurs) and the other will cover the Weekend Day shift (Thurs - Sun)Primary duties: Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.Your specific duties include, but may not be limited to:Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules; integrating multiple program schedule requests into one executable schedule for production teamsResolves conflicts between competing programs for common resourcesAdvises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as neededCreate, maintain and status network-based, Master Production Schedules in support of E-6B programsUse your understanding of critical path schedule network processing, driven by logic, durations and date constraintsUse your experience with IMP/IMS schedule structure as well as schedules based on Work Breakdown StructuresExport schedule data to Excel and working with responsible parties to gather and report schedule status and productivity metrics per weekly and monthly reporting cyclesUse your experience with critical and driving path identification and analysisUse your experience resource loading schedules, including both labor and materialUse your knowledge to MRP/ERP and shop floor MES systems with experience aligning program schedules with the manufacturing/production systemWork independently with minimum supervision, yet understands the importance of the Master Production Scheduler role in contributing to the overall success of the program teamIntegrate external customer or subcontractor program activity into the master production scheduleAnalyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnelMay establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operationsPrepare and deliver CDRLs in accordance with program specific requirements (ex. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methodsBasic Qualifications:This position may be hired as a Principal or Sr Principal level based on the experience level of the candidates selected.Principal: A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9 yrs of Planner/Scheduler related experience with an aviation background. A Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 yrs of related experience with an aviation background, may also be considered.Sr Principal: A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 12 yrs of Planner/Scheduler related experience with an aviation background. A Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study and a minimum of 8 years of experience or an Associate's degree and a minimum of 10 yrs of related experience with an aviation background, may also be considered.High energy, results oriented (commitment to follow up), self-motivated / self-directed, proactive, team playerStrong problem solving and analysis skills with the ability to learn from mistakesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with and drive deliverables from individuals at all levels within the organizationAbility to multitask and prioritizeStrong attention to detailAbility to change shifts as required by the program.Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance if required by the program.Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a related field.Experience utilizing all aspects of Microsoft Project to manage IMS.A current DoD Secret clearance.Primary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $82,200.00 - $138,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
