HR Coordinator - Temporary

It’s located in one of the world’s safest and most economically vibrant communities and is Orange County’s second-largest employer, contributing $7 billion annually to the local economy and $8 billion statewide.To learn more about UC Irvine, visit Responsibilities Job duties include, but are not limited to: Manage daily AP/HR office operations, including shared inboxes, purchasing, reimbursements, personnel files, directories, and intranet updates. Coordinate HR transactions and onboarding, including UCPath processing, employee end-date tracking, payroll/HR support, and new hire documentation. Serve as Departmental Time Administrator (DTA), ensuring accurate and timely TRS timekeeping, approvals, schedules, and payroll submissions. Support faculty and staff recruitment, including job postings, phone screenings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and campus visit logistics. Provide administrative support to the AP/HR team, resolving operational issues and adapting to changing priorities. Qualifications Required: Strong organizational, administrative, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise independent judgment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn HR, payroll, and administrative systems. Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English. Preferred: Experience in HR, academic personnel, recruitment, payroll, or higher education administration. Experience with UCPath, TRS, iCIMS, JDX, or similar HR/recruitment systems. Knowledge of University of California policies, procedures, payroll, or collective bargaining agreements. Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, or employee transactions. Experience independently resolving administrative or operational issues. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles. The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment.
