Software Build Coordinator

Overview SCCI is seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist: Software (SW) Build Coordinator to join our team. In this position, you will develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms. You will also assist in day‑to‑day SCM activities, collaborate with all participants in software development projects, and support DevSecOps implementation and automation initiatives. The position is available immediately and is located in Dahlgren, VA. Responsibilities Support and work within the Agile Methodology (e.g., daily standups, product backlog item development, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.). Support the CM software build processes, including building software via Linux-based environments, auditing built software, and loading cycle‑built software onto tactical representative configurations. Support all documentation development and QA checks associated with the CM software build process (audit reports, transmittals, software version descriptions, etc.). Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases. Assist in day‑to‑day SW CM activities, including code merging, versioning, and general code maintenance. Support DevSecOps implementation and automation initiatives. Implementation integrates security into every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); automate security checks (SAST, DAST, compliance) within CI/CD pipelines. Essential Skills and Experience Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance. High school diploma. Five (5) years of CM experience and CM processes. Ability to quickly learn new tools and technical system configurations and understand part versioning. Hands‑on experience with Linux (RHEL), including system administration, hardening, and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and routing for secure and reliable network configuration within a datacenter environment. Proven ability to automate tasks using Bash and Python. Practical experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and container technologies such as Docker and Podman. Effective communication across all organizational levels, including co‑workers, managers, and government customers. Dependable, self‑starter with strong technical skills and attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy. Strong organizational, task tracking, and follow‑up skills. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with Ansible for automated configuration management and deployments (Infrastructure as Code). Proficiency in building and securing automated pipelines using GitLab CI/CD. Knowledge of implementing and auditing security controls, including STIGs, and integrating security scanning tools (SAST/DAST). Deep expertise in container orchestration with Kubernetes and implementing container security best practices. Proficient with Git for version control and collaborative development.
