The School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for a 12‑month faculty role that goes beyond traditional teaching, supporting students in our Associate in Science (A.S.N.) degree program. In this dynamic position, you’ll serve as a clinical expert and professional role model, providing direct supervision, mentorship, and skill‑building support to nursing students in acute and long‑term care settings. Instructional Workload The Clinical Nurse Educator is a 12‑month faculty position within the School of Nursing, responsible for direct supervision and clinical instruction of nursing students in health‑care settings. Average of 30 hours a week in clinicals and 10 hours supporting nursing labs and performing other tasks. The role is subject to annual renewal, with duties and time commitments varying based on operational needs, clinical site demands, accreditation requirements, and institutional resources. The contract length follows the academic calendar. Position Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution (BSN). Current, active, and unencumbered licensure in Florida as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, or ability to obtain one by the start date of August 18, 2026. Minimum of 3 years of hospital experience or clinical experience in an educational setting as a Registered Nurse or ARNP. Will establish and maintain Florida residency within 30 days of the start date. Will complete pre‑employment screenings including criminal background check, drug screening, professional reference verification, and driver’s license verification. Salary Information Salary is determined based on relevant work experience and the highest degree earned. The ranges are: Bachelor’s: $57,733 – $71,669 per year Master’s: $62,753 – $77,900 per year Master’s + 30: $67,772 – $84,131 per year Doctorate: $70,284 – $87,249 per year Application Process Application collection begins: January 2026. Additional Information This is a grant‑funded position supported by the Perkins Grant, with an anticipated end date of August 2, 2027. Essential Job Functions Serve as a clinical role model and mentor for nursing students in assigned health‑care settings. Supervise students’ delivery of nursing care at the bedside, ensuring safe, ethical, and evidence‑based practices. Evaluate students’ clinical performance and maintain accurate, timely documentation of evaluations. Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and counseling to students regarding their clinical progress. Collaborate with faculty and administration to develop and coordinate meaningful clinical learning experiences, such as simulation integration or specialty rotations. Select appropriate clients and clinical cases to support student learning and skill development, while maintaining quality patient care. Foster and maintain strong relationships with clinical agency partners, acting as liaison between the academic program and healthcare facilities. Participate in faculty and departmental meetings, trainings, and program development initiatives as needed. Uphold professional standards and comply with institutional, accreditation, and healthcare regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of full‑time experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care in a health‑care facility. Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Nursing Education background. Preferred: Experience working with undergraduate nursing students in clinical settings or prior experience in precepting or clinical supervision. Licenses and Certifications Current Registered Nurse license in FL in good standing. CPR certification at the Health Care Provider level. Knowledge, skills, and abilities as detailed below (list can be merged). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of nursing principles and ability to model professional behaviors while supervising students in safe, ethical, and evidence‑based patient care. Skill in assessing clinical performance, maintaining documentation, and providing constructive feedback and academic support. Ability to design and coordinate meaningful clinical experiences and student assignments, including client/case selection, in collaboration with faculty and clinical sites. Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with students, faculty, and clinical partners; participate in meetings and program initiatives. Knowledge of nursing standards, accreditation requirements, and institutional policies, with a commitment to professional integrity and compliance. Strong clinical judgment and problem‑solving skills to support safe, effective patient care and student learning. Ability to engage in physically demanding clinical work, including prolonged activity, assisting with patient mobility, and performing hands‑on procedures requiring visual acuity, fine motor skills, and sensory responsiveness. Job Specific Working Conditions Work primarily in clinical and hospital environments, with some responsibilities carried out in laboratory settings. Employees routinely use standard medical equipment such as patient monitors, infusion pumps, and ECG machines. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials may occur. Work environment may have moderate to high noise levels. Duties require frequent standing, walking, assisting with patient care, and handling medical equipment; may include lifting or carrying items up to 20–30 pounds. Employees must communicate effectively, discern and exchange information, adjust focus, and exhibit discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, comprehension, problem solving, and decision‑making. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability is required.
