Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Kerrville, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/19/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 19, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a TX or compact license and willingness to float to Medical/Surgical units.Details\n \n Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30-07:00\n 13-week assignment in a Labor & Delivery unit\n 1:2 patient ratio\n Required to float to Medical/Surgical floors in rotation with full-time staff\n Uses Centricity charting system\n Community hospital setting\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience\n Prior Medical/Surgical experience preferred and must be comfortable floating to this unit\n Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP\n Experience with Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum couplet care preferred\n Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products\n Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement and calibration, and spiral electrode placement\n Experience assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections\n Comfortable managing medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives\n Newborn care experience including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation\n Additional Information\n \n Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management\n Support high-risk deliveries, C-section procedures, and postpartum complications such as hemorrhage\n Perform newborn assessments, discharge teaching, and lactation support\n Located in Texas wine country, approximately 1 hour outside San Antonio\n Facility housing available\n Must reside within 50 miles or be willing to relocate for the assignment as local candidates are not accepted\n Must work 3 of the 5 winter holidays\n Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-754522.
